The magnificent 7 star Burj-al-Arab Hotel is an unforgettable landmark built on an island in the bay off the Jumeirah Beach, some 20 kilometres south of Dubai City in the United Arab Emirates. Reputedly the most luxurious and opulent, and the only 7 star hotel, in the world.

Its unusual shape, 27 floors high, was designed to resemble the fully blown sail of an Arabian dhow and its many large, full-length, windows give a panoramic view of the Arabian Gulf as well as adjacent developments such as The Palms and the new World Islands, also in the bay.

The Burj-al-Arab is all duplex suites, of varying sizes, all equipped with every state-of-the-art facility in addition to indesribable luxury and all with round-the-clock personalised service to ensure that the every whim of guests is addressed.

Cocktail lounges, lively bars and restaurants abound offering an exciting choice of dining experiences from informal beachside cafes to the more formal for mouth watering haute cuisine from top chefs. The Burj-al-Arab's seafood restaurant, the "Oyster Shell" has a an aquarium setting.

As would be expected, the hotel incorporates a health and spa centre with therapists offering many different treatments. There are pools, saunas, jacuzzis and a whole range of exercise equipment. Not to mention the world's highest tennis court- a round platform extending from the hotel at rooftop level.

The island, home of the Burj al Arab hotel, is connected to the mainland by a causeway.

On arrival in Dubai guests can choose to be met by one of hotel's fleet of Rolls Royce for chauffer driven transfer to the hotel or perhaps they might opt for the helicopter which will land them on the rooftop heliport. Whichever form of transport they choose that will be able to take advantage of the private check-in facility available on all floors.

For the absolute in luxurious surroundings the unequalled Hotel Burja al Arab in Dubai is the place to stay.
